3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A great beer, considering how high in alcohol it has, still taste lots of hop bitterness and malty. The kind of beer you bring out when you have wine drinkers over, who think they know a lot about wine, except you may not want to share it.

2011 edition. From notes. Big beer, sweet fruit, plums, cherries, caramel. Lots of hops, but strangely does note destroy my palate, just kidding. Gotta love the DB.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Backlog, 2011. Caramel, syrup, brown sugar and raisins. The alcohol comes through together with some dried fruits and a long afternote of sweet-soaked hops.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2013 bottle to a pint glass pours a deep amber color with a tan 1 finger head and good lacing.
The nose is dark cherry caramel malt sweetness.
Taste is very sweet and malty up front.. Strong, brown sugar, syrup, cherry caramel with some bitter hops on the back end. Definitely boozy but this feels like a punch you in the mouth type beer that is not trying to hide the high ABV.
Mouthfeel is thick, syrup, spicy and very smooth.
Overall this is a winner. Very bold and complex flavor that is not quite my style but I have to respect it.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
maltig, karamell och nödig ton och tydlig humlebeska. Alkoholstinn så man får ta det lilla lugna. En alldeles för stor flaska, 25 cl hade räckt!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Palate crusher. That’s exactly what I was looking for from this beer. It does it’s job well.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A kind of strong alcohol note and warm aroma of dried fruits. Deeply burnt orange/red appearance with off-white lacing.
Very sweet and bitter taste and a very long-lasting hop bite. Noticing the 11.2%. Leaves an oily palate. Great beer but such a bastard!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a unique reddish brown color with some sediment. Has more head than I was expecting for 11.2% ABV, but it recedes quickly. Great looking beer. Smells strongly of alcohol, more of a sweet stout or barleywine smell than an ale. The aroma and appearance are near opposites of one another. Taste is hops up front, alcohol in the finish - that’s it. Not much of a malt presence that I could detect. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth for such a strong beer, but the aftertaste is way too boozy. You couldn’t eat anything with this beer; it would dominate the taste of any food. I was hoping for something more complex. I’m a big Stone fan, but I would recommend just about any of their IPA’s or stouts over this one. This beer is good for getting drunk (which does have it’s place), not for savoring.
