This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists...

Pours a medium to dark golden brown color. Three-finger head of light tan foam. Great retention and sticky, clumpy lacing. Not a whole lot in the smell department. Light hints of sweet malts and some floral and citrus hops notes. Light caramel presence, but mostly hops. Hey, what do you know? A beer from Stone that’s actually getting close to being balanced. The hops still dominate, as usual, but it’s closer. This has an underlying sweet malty profile that, for once, is actually putting up a good effort to get noticed. Mild caramel and sweet malt taste. Pine and grapefruit notes. Slight bitterness. Not nearly as harsh as Arrogant Bastard. Smooth and basically creamy. Just a slight touch of sharpness. Nice lower medium level of carbonation. I have to say that, being from Stone (who I actually like, despite how it may sound), this is a pretty darn drinkable beer. I find most of their brews to be way out of balance, but this one goes down pretty smooth. At this point in time, this would be my ’go-to’ beer from Stone.

A very big beer. Mouthfeel is almost perfect. Great hops and huge punch with the 11%. You can definitely taste the booze. Overall this is a great beer.

Bomber to a pint... Hazy copper-amber with thin tan head and lacing. Toffee with floral and pine resin nose. Layered and complex flavors, smooth, balanced, dry bitter finish. Hides the ABV well... Excellent Strong Ale!

Pours a dark red with a 1 finger off white head. Has the aroma of dark fruit and caramel, Strong flavor that follows nose with lots of malts and a booziness and heat at the end but that is not a complaint, its part of the experience. Next time I go to Illinois I will be picking up a few more bottles.

This beer is amazing. Deep, rich, complex maltiness. High gravity and residual dissolved sugar content. You might wish to have a glass of ice water to chase each sip. One bomber might put you in a diabetic and alcoholic stupor. This is a big boy beer or one to share if you bought the bomber. I have all but forgotten the regular bastard by Stone brewing after drinking this beer!

From the bomber, it appears almost black with red highlights, has a nice white collar. At first tastes like sweet malt, then hops and bitter, with an exhale of alcohol. All things considered i would think this is the type of beverage "The Devil" would serve you if you were invited to his home to discuss terms of an agreement. The warmth and rapid buzz might loosen one up to sign the paper.

Amazing beer! First taste is a caramel with a hop finish! Color is a brown reddish. Smell is floral. If you want a beer with lots of character this is it!

Poured bright reddish amber with a tan head. Aroma of dense, concentrated berries, floral hops and caramel malt. Full body, flavour is sweet berries, toffee, moderately bitter hops.

When the aroma which makes pear and melon remember is accepted, the sweetness of the malt stands out at the beginning, but mellow sweetness and moist bitterness follow about a tongue after that. Indeed, for rate beer, the beer for which a high score is taken. It's wonderful!

Freshness makes all the difference here and this is a huge improve from my last bottlem. Signature Stone rawness with much delectable twisted rubber hop bitterness throughout the length. Deep glowing hazy reddish brown. Limited head. A glorious blow to the head.
