COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists...

Pours a medium to dark golden brown color. Three-finger head of light tan foam. Great retention and sticky, clumpy lacing. Not a whole lot in the smell department. Light hints of sweet malts and some floral and citrus hops notes. Light caramel presence, but mostly hops. Hey, what do you know? A beer from Stone that’s actually getting close to being balanced. The hops still dominate, as usual, but it’s closer. This has an underlying sweet malty profile that, for once, is actually putting up a good effort to get noticed. Mild caramel and sweet malt taste. Pine and grapefruit notes. Slight bitterness. Not nearly as harsh as Arrogant Bastard. Smooth and basically creamy. Just a slight touch of sharpness. Nice lower medium level of carbonation. I have to say that, being from Stone (who I actually like, despite how it may sound), this is a pretty darn drinkable beer. I find most of their brews to be way out of balance, but this one goes down pretty smooth. At this point in time, this would be my ’go-to’ beer from Stone.

Pours deep copper red and clear, little aroma sweet from malts not the clearest hop flavor. Taste is exploding malts sweetness followed by a strong bitterness. Beatifull palate, can not taste the alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle (2012 edition, 11.2% ABV). Clear coppery colour, thin tan head. Fruity aroma of caramel, malt, piney hops and hints of vanilla. The flavour is caramel-malty at first, but that is quickly replaced by a massive dose of grapefruit-pine hops. Very tasty.

Draft at Memphis. Pours a murky brown with thick beige head and protruding ringed lace. Aroma or caramel, toffee, rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, pine. Boozy as hell. I used to love this so I’ll be kind to it ratings wise.

Bottled. Pours clear amber in color with a small tan head. Burnt sugar, some slightly boozy notes and a bit of forrest in aroma. Slightly sweet and some boozy notes in taste. A bit of a let down as usual with these Stone’s brews. Too boozy and too sweet, although there’s some grassy bitterness towards the finish.

Had this multiple Times but first time rating it. Mahogany in color, the aroma promises butterscotch, dark fruit, caramel, vanilla and honey which the taste promptly delivers along with some hints of cocoa, citrus and slight herbal tones. Very good indeed! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beautiful copper pour. Nice and clear with lots of tiny bubbles which rise to the thick white head. Sweet aroma of malt, fresh earth, hay, and booze. Thick mouthfeel. Flavor of sweet malt, pineapple, pine needles, grass with a giant hop punch in the mouth. Booze finish. I'm hardly worthy... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Perfect clear amber with thick long lasting white head. Inhaled pure earthy hops. Sweet cream and vanilla is immediately overwhelmed by grapefruit and bitterness. Beautiful.
