500 ml can. I don’t see a widget, but it pours as if there were one in there. Pale copper colour with a thick, persistent white head. Aroma of caramel malts and UK hops. Nice fruity malts and spicy hop aromas typical of UK bitters. Mouthfeel needs some carbonation, the beer just seems limp and lifeless (probably the nitro). Watery palate. Sweet, fruity malts, spicy and slightly woody hops with a hint of stale flavour. It isn’t really bad, it just needs more to be good.

Fizzy apple juice aroma with underlying peppermint candy...Bitter, peppery hops desperately trying to survive the ailing body...A little caramel and a few disgruntled, metallic flowers fail to create more interest...
1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 Sammy (6120) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 6, 2006
Like a lager, easy drink and mouthfeel. Serviceable beer, better than a macro. Pale lagercolour, residual bit of yeast on top, no head to speak of. nothing in aroma, in fact a negative. . Was there a hop? No but metallic rather than a nice bitter finish.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2004 Amber color and shy head. Caramel is pretty much the only aroma I detect. The taste is a pleasant mix of cereals and caramel. Good, but simple, fits english pales okay, but I'd have put it into the bitters.

It is obviously not just in Denmark that Carlsberg brews bland and boring beer.
