Similar to Bass, which I like better. Goes nice with Indian food and is a pleasant change from the norm but not worth throwing yourself in front of a car for...

Amber/Orange color with a cotton-like head. Bready and fruity aroma. Buttery flavor with some sweetness and a great deal of bitterness.

Double diamond, sounds like a vodka concoction, but really a rather bland and flavourless English beer.

Sigmund (3713) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - APR 11, 2002
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2003 A decent pale ale, not outstanding in any way. Rerate 500 ml bottle: Moderate malty aroma, golden brown colour, good head. Pleasant, malty, well rounded flavour. Decent. A bit alcoholic, in a blind test I would guess it was stronger than it actually is.

ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 17, 2003
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2005 Light orange amber color. Moderate white cream head. Has some zing to it, in that it has more of a piney hops flavor, almost a delicate spice. Body was medium and nothing to brag about. A step up from Old Speckled, and somewhat better than boddingtons. A bit stale in the aftertaste maybe? could be worse, there is some redeeming maltiness.

Gold in colour with almost no head. The aroma was pretty subdued with only a minimal amount of hops and malt coming through. The taste was equally as subtle. No complexity and a somewhat metallic taste leaved an unhappy aftertaste in my mouth. I would rather have a Carlsberg than this anyday.

Hazy amber color with a medium white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Sweet caramel and slightly bitter flavor.

beerbuzzmontreal (3428) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 24, 2004
Clear orange amber color, medium, fugaceous, rocky white head. Very shy aroma of hops and malt. I feel no hops flavor at all except for a light bitterness, it’s mostly malty and fruity. Bitter finish of a low intensity. Light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. It’s very oily for a bitter and I feel it’s pretty much bland and ordinary.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2006 Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joes in Pittsburgh this beer poured a cooper color with a small white head. There was a light sweet aroma. The flavor is lightly malty, faintly sweet and very mildly hoppy. Another boring English ale, yawn.

Orange/amber with a bubbly thick head. Some apricot and malt in aroma. Thick sweet flavours of toffee and skunked malt. Some simple bitterness and sweetness in finish.
