4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beershine (4729) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - MAR 9, 2011
Bottle @ Ard Bia (great restaurant in Galway). Hazy golden yellow, light bubbles. Smells like a farmhouse after the harvest. Very lightly carbonated. Balanced acidic and sweet with excellent funk character. Long-lasting flavors. Juicy perry middle with lots of must and skins The slight carbonation makes the flavors come alive. Smoked and stewed apple character. This is incredibly good and worth seeking out! Wish I could drink more!
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 18, 2011
Bottle, Ard Bia, Galway. Cloudy brownish-tan. Slow sparkle. Lightly tannic, almost a light farmhouse accent and with a juicy balance. Earthy, juicy with minerals, straw, some tannins. Great character - complex, slightly austere but still refreshing. Light spice. I could drink a lot of this. It’s hard to come by good cider in Ireland, but this is one.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 OleR (3658) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 29, 2010
Bottle shared by an anonymous Cider-hostile, Oslo-based RateBeerian. A ring of tiny grey bubbles atop of a clear, pale straw colored body. Quite fresh, natural apple aroma, with a touch of farmyard and freshly cut wood. Taste is medium sweet and has a clean apple flavor. A light acidity and some vague tart notes underneath. Medium to light in body weight. Farmyard notes in the ending. A likeable one.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 larsga (4663) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 15, 2010
Small white froth covers half the glass. Pale yellow body. Apple and wood aroma with sugary sulphury notes. Sweetish sugary apple taste with wooden farmyard notes. Light body. Mealy mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish papery apple farmyard aftertaste. Decent. (0.33l bottle, from a source which cannot be named.)
