500mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany / dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out loads of roast for a quad, with some burnt dark fruits, and some Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out wonderful roasted malt, some burnt dark fruits, a little Belgian yeast, and slight cocoa. Very complex, finishing on burnt cocoa notes. Really well-balanced. Wonderful stuff.

Bottled. Murky brown with a medium-sized white head. Mildly smoked malt, bakers chocolate, coffee, raisins, sugared dates, molasses and alcohol round out the nose. Lightly bitter flavor - coffee, light anise, rye bread, plums. Mild coffee and moderate cocoa powder finish. Pretty solid.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Deep brown, moderate to large frothy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Rustic malty nose, deep hearty bread, slight dark bread and dark pitted fruit.   More of a bready example than a fruity one.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Finishes on the sweet bready side, malty, slight dark pitted fruit.   Not as big as I would have hoped.   Also not as funky either.   Clean, but very much middle of the road.

On tap at FredFest 2013. Pours dark brown with a huge beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a slightly harsh chocolate flavor with a nice yeast presence and a dry finish.
