COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A proper stout to call our own...this brew is a quintessential Double Mountain interpretation of a classic style. Rich, creamy, roasty and beautifully bitter. Poured with a thick head, courtesy of nitrogen. Brewed with organic Pilsner malt, black, brown crystal malts, roasted barley and Brewers’ Gold hops. 4.5% ABV, 50 BU

On tap at Baileys. Pours black with a tall khaki head that lasts forever. Thick lacing remains in the glass as you drink, ahh, Nitro does wonders for appearance. Big roasted malt nose with a smoked malt hint. Really well done dry stout, creamy and dry on the palate, sessionable abv, lots of roasty/smokey flavors, caramel and underlying chocolate. This is a really delicious brew.

Nitro @ Bailey’s Taproom... Poured black with a huge light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and barley with an added coffee presence. Full, foamy palate but also a light weight to it. Roasted coffee and sweet toffee and/or caramel malt notes before the coffee returned to the finish.

On Nitro tap at Double Mountain Hood River. Pours out a black topped with a tan head. Aroma was of roast malts and a nice coffee presents. Taste was more of the roast, coffee, dark chocolate, that ends with a nice bitter end.

Tap at the brewery. Black and thick with a creamy tan head. Dry roasted grain aroma with a touch of chocolate peaking through. Nice roasted grain, chocolate taste and hints of coffee. Body is nice and creamy with a little dryness. Well done brew.

Draft at the source. Deep maroon briwn color, beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder, coffee grounds. Taste is dark coffee, bitter cocoa, fairly dry finish. Tasty.

Aroma - Dark malt aroma with a light smokiness. Appearance – Dark brown in color, clear with a thin dark tan head. Flavor – Malty, smokey with some hops this was with chocolate and coffee flavors also. Palate – Smooth to the taste with a great mouthfeel. Overall – Very tasty brew this was one of the best for the day.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2010 Draft @ Naked City- dense black with creamy tan head; served pretty cold and creamy on first sip; nutty roast and creamy milk chocolate; silky smooth and spot on for the style; doesn’t fall into a super sweet mess; roasty, chocolate, light and smooth; good stuff; I wonder if my hard liver beers are ready yet?

On tap at Double Mountain in Hood River. Nice looking pour. Dark brown with a light brown head (nitro). Aroma of roasted malt and oats with hints of earth, caramel and vanilla. Flavor of oats, roasted malt and coffee. A really tasty version of the style.

Draught. Poured black with a thick beige head. *this was a nitro cask. Aroma was a light roast malt, with a nice bit of coffee. Roast flavour, with a lot of espresso coffee notes. A good bit of hop in the finish.
