3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy light gold with two inches of white head which fade like the diminishing superstructure of Cheetos soaking in water. Aroma is sticky pine sap, grapefruit, lemon, herbal twang (juniper), cedar wood, even a hint of cinnamon!? Body is on the light side of medium. Flavor indicates chewed peanut shells (anyone else getting this, it’s dead on), pomegranate seed pits, slightly burnt nuts, grass, bitter resin. Certainly an interesting beer. I guess I should drink/brew with more cluster!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
1 pt bottle. From whole foods Portland , nice clean hop flavor. Clean yellow pour. Not incredibly complex but the hops are front and center. A very nice hoppy brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2013 Bottle. Hazed gold with a fine white head. Rich orange and peach nectar hops, moderately musty, light cheese rind and herbs. Very much like an EKG hopped bitter or English pale ale in the nose. Strongly bitter body on top of a surprisingly lean pale malt core. Lemon, pepper, white onion, lawn clippings and dried herb flavor. Pasty, yeasty finish, a bit chalky but not to an extent to annoy me. Bright and vibrant and I would guess it’s about 6% rather than over 7%. More dry than sweet, musty and herbal with a rustic English hop quality and a pleasant bitter lemon pith flavor. Very clean and enjoyable for me at a time when IPA and strongly-hopped American ales aren’t really doing it.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2013 Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured pale, mildly hazy with a thick forming eggy white head. Nose had earthy vegetal hops. Some bitterness but the hop spicing was overly earthy with onion-like vegetal tones along with a strong citrus note too. Not much malt to balance.

On draught at PDX Beer Week 2013 Kickoff Party at Lucky Lab. Pale golden color. Soapy grassy hop aroma. Taste is quite hop forward, with definite grassy bitter notes. OK, but not a favorite.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ the brewpub in Hood River. Pours slightly cloudy golden with thin head. Aroma is strong grapefruit hop notes. Taste is thin caramel malt, with juicy fresh hops on the finish. Big flavors of grapefruit, grass, and pine. Dry on the finish. Quite refreshing, and doesn’t seem as big as the 7.3 abv suggests. Tasty.
