COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(...)The result is a dark ale broadly in the style of an altbier, which is to say a brownish German-style ale that’s cold-fermented more like a lager, adding roundness. It’s a tad ‘bigger’ in every respect than most traditional altbiers — but that’s just how we roll. Brewed with Pilsner, Munich and chocolate malts, Kölsch yeast, and a variety of German hops; dry-hopped with whole Hallertaus for extra aroma. 6.2% ABV, 50BU.

Tap at 16 Tons. Light brown pour, beefy tan head. Yeast, light earthen hops and some chocolate malt present. Slight alcohol burn, much more than normal for the style.

Dark Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Decent amount of dark roast malt and light hops. Light lager like flavors with added roasty this was a pretty decent brew. Nice bite this was a Alt for sure.

On tap at Double Mountain in Hood River. Reminded me of watching Beerfest in Lexington. Dirty auburn in color. Aroma was a bit nutty and caramelly. Flavor was nicer than the aroma. A bit sweet with nice amounts of caramel, earth, nuts. Dry finish. A bit of hops in the finish (earthy).
