The Devilís Kriek employed a Flanders Red Ale base prior to the addition of 200 lbs of Bing Cherries from Mattís orchard in Duke Valley. The Devilís Kriek developed a classic Brett character typical of beers in the style and used a mixture of three yeast strains to complete itís mission to provide complexity.

Poured a burnt orange hue with almost no head. Aroma was light sour cherries with light woody notes. Nice balance of sweet and tart but I was hoping for a bit more funk. If someone else opened one up I definitely would drink more but probably the last one Iíll buy at the price point, although I did enjoy this one.

On tap at PIB, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out fuzzy citrus fruits and some moderate wild yeast. Flavour is wild and complex, with some brett-like wild yeast, with probably some other wild yeasts, some feint cherries, and citrus zest. Complex and refined, and very drinkable. Very good wild ale.

Poured from a 375mL bottle, vintage 2012 bottled on 01/15/2014. Aroma is fairly funky with quite a nice barnyard character to it. Moderately strong cherry character with moderate acidity. Light acetic note. Pours a fairly clear, bright ruby red with a slight orange hue and a moderately sized, fairly thin and frothy, slightly pink head that recedes quickly to the edges. Flavor is fairly tart with quite a bit of tart cherry character. Medium light barnyard funk with light tropical fruit character. Hints of citrus and acetic acid. Faint hint of a buttery character. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice American "kriek." Lots of cherry notes with decent acidic and Brett complexity. The acidity is definitely strong though.

tepid cherry, effervescent, puffy large bubbled white head gone fast. Jammy berry nose, light booze with a balsamic twang, arsenic. Lightly Medicinal front palate, jammy cherry and moderate balsamic mid, heavy arsenic adds astringent bitterness and light paper before the juicy finish ends quite dry. Thin and sticky with tons of juicy explosion.

>> Thank you Kevin for the share! Clear deep red pour, no foam. Nose is chocolate, cranberry, chocolate cake. Taste is mild acetic, mild sugar, cranberry, red wine. Good. More like sour red with hints of sugar balance.

Bright burgundy Batman! Not my favourite Sour but still not unenjoyabeer. Very cherry, but more like a cherry rhubarb pie. Quite sour but also quite one dimensional. A bit of lemon, leather, vanilla and barnyard but mostly sour cherries. Decent. Medium feel and carbonation.

Bottle:   Soft Kriek nose, a little tart and a little sweet.   Smells somewhat promising.   Fairly soft on the tongue.   Unripened cherries as well as a bit of even ripened cherries. &nbps Not too sour, or bright.   A softer example.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Has a slight fake/artificial sugary aspect to it, a little like Duchesse.   Not all that bright and dry on the finish, which is what it really needs.   Very pedestrian.   Tiz okay.

Reddish pour, pink head. Green apples, unripe cherry notes, sour...overall this just isnít that great. Very much an odd apple juice flavor.

Nice. Sourness is puckering, and while a primary note of the taste, isnít overwhelming. Cherry flavor is a bit subdued, but still comes through well.
