The Devilís Kriek employed a Flanders Red Ale base prior to the addition of 200 lbs of Bing Cherries from Mattís orchard in Duke Valley. The Devilís Kriek developed a classic Brett character typical of beers in the style and used a mixture of three yeast strains to complete itís mission to provide complexity.

Tried on tap at Belmont Station for Puckerfest. It pours a deep red, almost burgundy in color with no head on the color. Nose is predominately vinegar with some black cherry pit character. Flavor is much less focused on the vinegar and more on the cherry. There are some port notes as well. Acetic, moderate mouthfeel, and a long finish. Decent Kriek, not mind blowing but it was awesome being able to try it.

Tap at Double mountain, hood river, or. Tart cherry aroma with red wine vinous notes. Pours a nice cherry red color with a thin white head with no retention or lacing. Starts with sweet cherry that quickly turns tart. Finishes with extreme cherry tartness with red wine vinous notes. Good, but the end is very tart.

Appearance: hazy brownish red, tiny fizzy light tan head quickly vanishing to a smattering of upward prickles. Aroma: sour cherries, leather, hint of molasses, balsamic demi glace. Taste: extremely tart and sour cherries, wet oak, leather, tootsie roll; as it warms, balsamic notes become more sour and pronounced. Finish: alcohol (9.3 according to the bottle) is remarkably well hidden, but thereís a growing astringency to the back end. Notes: Bottle labeled 2014. Incredible sour. 9.3% abv, with no hint of it in the palate? Thatís remarkable. As it warmed to room temperature, it became a little unbalanced toward the vinegar side. At that point, I started mixing it half and half with their Tahoma Kriek, which was one of the best beer decisions Iíve ever made: the result was about the best sour Iíve ever tasted. Bottle from Sarah for Annibeersary 2015, via Craft Beer Kings.

Tap maybe the most expensive 10 oz beer Iíve ever ordered Hazy slightly muddy red with a light pink faint ring Tart cherry and apple aroma breach and pie crust. Big dull tart cherry flavored soft earthiness and a plain straight forward tart burn at the end Very tasty would have been awesome at half the price
