COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
T’is the season for a big, malty hop bomb...We’ve loaded our inaugural holiday brew up with enough Centennials to fill Santa’s toy bag. Cheers to hoppy beers! Brewed with Gambrinus Organic Pilsner and Munich malt, imported crystal malts and Centennial hops.

Beermongers was packed when I had this so my notes are based on memory because I had to hold the beer the whole time. pours a hazy cola brown. aroma is pretty muted. nothing jumping out. a real slow sipper of a beer. strong malt punch to this but past that fairly plain.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a deep copper with a thin off white head. Big malt body, lots of caramel and a big citrus hop bitterness in the taste. Lots of citrus hops in the nose with a hints of caramel.

Grassy piney hop aroma is strong. Slightly hazy dark copper color. Spicy sappy hops start but crystal malt provides a semi-sweetness before the bitterness kicks in. Medium body with effervescent carbonation. Good winter warmer that achieves admiral balance between lots of hops and malt.

Dark amber in color, clear with a thin head. Big malt bready aroma with hops. Love the sweet malt flavors adding fruit and bread like flavors along with the bitter hops they add a nice flavor. This was a big beer and has lots of character when it warms up.

Amber-bodied brew aopportioned with a nice, off-white, lacy head. Chinooky accented bouquet with pine essences and floral charcter, finished with a citrus kiss. Again, the body follows through on the nose with piney and citrus notes and a sticky resinous character. This brew causes me to pause and recall Laconner’s lovely Tannenbaum seasonal, though this Double Mountain concoction is a less prickly and buzzy rendition.

Big floral hops on the nose. Doughy malts, some caramel and bread too. Pours hazy golden brown. Whispy head, nice stický lace. Bitter peppery and floral hops up front. Grapefruit pith makes an appearance too. Caramel and dough followed by bready malts that seem to be used in every one of their beers. Dry finish w some chewy resins.

Draft at Naked City. Hazy dark apricot golden color with light white head. Kind of a subtle nose, but the hops are what are really poking through. Caramel grapfruitiness at it best, saying ’drink me bvc’. Nice bitting bitterness up front with some light citrus notes following, but it never turns to the sweeter side. Then it it finishes kind of grassy and bitter with the crystal malt showing through. Nice PNW winter seasonal.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2010 Tap at Beveridge Place. Poured coppery with a small off-white head. Has a mild aroma of caramel, floral hops, and some spiciness. Flavor is toasty, caramelly malt, some apple fruitiness, and a whole lot of pine hoppiness that leads into a bitter, slightly spicy finish. One of the better seasonals I’ve had this year.

Blind taste at concordia. light orange color with a noted hoppy aroma. Good biting palate form the hops at the end. Pleasing.

Growler picked up from Baileys Taproom by my good friend Leems and then shared this weekend. Poured hazy copper with a fluffy bisque head and medium lacing. Aroma of pine and citrus hops and a decent amount of toffee malt. Flavor was pretty hoppy, starting with citrus and hitting some pine and malt towards the end. Solidly enjoyable and always fun to drink Christmas brews in the summer.
