3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Visual: Pours reddish brown with a nice 1.5cm dissipating head, sticky lacing, a thin layer of retention, lost of slow steady streams.
Nose: citrusy pine hops, toasted malt backdrop, light boozy (lvl-6)-pungency
Attack: creamy-fine, crisp
Mid-palate: (lvl-5-sweetness), more creamy CO2, sweet light toasty barley malt, apple, orangy hop oils
Finish: soft green grassy piney off-dry bitter hops, malty sweet finish.
Summary: Solid malty hoppy profile with a very nice creamy mouthfeel. It’s just a touch too dry on the finish for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle in Seattle. Copper brown with a creamy, lacing head. Fresh pine hops and metallic, crisp malt. Rich body, some good hop bite and a rounder amber malt body. Heavier abv than I’d expect leads to a heavier, not entirely pleasant body. Good flavor but something doesn’t add up.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle
A reasonably nice seasonal feels like a beer with a limited shelf life that, if it still exists on any shelves, is a shell of itself. At the price here in Ohio I imagine that might be the case although if this were on draft I’d have no problems ordering a pint (depending on the other options). If higher gravity IPAs are your thing this West Coast style version should be right up your alley.
Aroma / Appearance - Caramel colored liquid swirls like a glass full of melted Red Vines. A rough vanilla head bobs up and down like whitecaps. Spruce, grapefruit, and some tropical notes brighten the mood. Overall this has a sharp focus but it doesn’t have that hook that catches your full attention.
Flavor / Palate - Oranges, grapefruit, and melon tickle the tongue en route to a clean bitter transition. After a few seconds it carries into the throat where it melts away with traces of resin and pine sap. If I had to choose one beer that shows what Double Mountain stands for from this limited flight it would be this one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml brown bottle. Orange, a bit hazy, nice looking creamy foam and wide bands of lacing in the glass. Aromas of caramel malt, mixed tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine and light weed. Taste - some caramel sweetness, citrusy, fruity. Medium lasting bitterness and some bitter citrus notes lingering. Medium bodied, good smooth carbonation. Good beer, not as intense in the finish as I would have liked, but worth drinking.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Damn. Similar to the killer green yet not. Still got that dankness that I loved in the green. Pineapple, sweet orange, melon, floral stuff, caramel, fresh. The taste is big yet kinda an all over the place thing. Just got caught up watching a two hr Maiden show and that beer is long gone. Was pretty good but not as good as the green.
