COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh Hop IRA
Mother Nature is a wonder. Each year she decrees what her bounty will bring, regardless of what we think it should be. Thusly, Sodbuster Farms in Salem brought us two varieties of fresh hops; Perle, and Sterling. The consortium of these hops provides the Killer Red with aromas of blood orange, pineapple, and forest. A healthy malt bill balances the top end and lends candied fruit, biscuit, and caramel character to the tongue. When life hands you hops, make fresh hop beer!.

Sampled after Killer Green. Also mild mannered and surprisingly drinkable for the variety. All the notes are there in balance. Recommended. B+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at DM pub. Opaque reddish toffee color, light head. Lots of loose lace. Beautiful citrus and floral aroma, followed by snappy and restrained malt profile, clean finish. Much more balanced and pulled-together than the Killer Green, a perennial favorite.

Love the regular IRA. This doesn’t have the same edge. Tastes similar to the Killer Green. That’s not a bad thing either. Has a little extra sweetness and minerality to it.

Tap @ Hood River Fresh Hop Fest... Poured reddish amber with a white head. Bug floral, piney and citrus hop flavors. One of the most refreshing of the Fest as it was nicely balanced by a malt backbone and fruit esters.

Tap at Bier Stein several months back, from notes. Opaque red pour with bubbly white head. Big floral aroma up front, with lots of citrus and pine and a solid caramel malt backing. Flavor has the same components, but the citrus and pine are dominant this time. Well-balanced and delicious fresh hop ale.

Fresh bottle. Pours dark amber with a short head. Decent retention and spotty lace. Green floral notes dominate the nose, but there is also some fruit and malt. Light bitter sweet flavor. Medium body, soft carb, solid oily, bitter finish. Excellent fresh hop ipa.

S: Grapefruit, pine, fresh cut grass, pineapples, pears, peaches, some candi sugar and light caramel malt. P: Clear amber red, with a thin tan head. T: Light grassy hops and pine. Light caramel malt and light tang towards the end. M: Silky with high to medium carbonation. O: I really like this one, I wish I would of picked up this one right away when my local store got it instead of about a month later. Will looking foward to this one next hop season.

500ml bottle bought from Lifesource natural grocers in Salem OR $4.99 2014 . 7.2% alc and 88 IBUs. Amber coloured body, clear, with a lovely tight bubbled but large off white head. Different hop profile from the "green", more powdery and resinous..but equally fresh again caramel malts. Very much balanced in taste with mote fruitiness than the "Green", and the hops showing mote progress in the end. Great mouth feel to this one also..lower carbonation but slick. Again a very nice fresh hop beer.
