COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Cologne, Germany, many a brewery produces a light-bodied ale with a delicate fruitiness and rounded maltiness, attributable to the unique yeast strain commonly used. Our Kölsch is unfiltered and more generously hopped than its German cousin. Brewed with Gambrinus Organic Pilsner and Munich malt and Perle hops. 5.2% ABV, 40 BU

This is a great refreshing summer beer but with the extra hop, I would say the taste is more reminiscent of a Pilsner than a Kolsch. Overall, I will have this again.

On tap at Imperial - poured a cloudy gold with a rocky white head. First aroma I got was sulfur and yeast with a bit of fruitiness. The Perle hops are well showcased and almost a little tart which is nice for pairing most food. The carbonation was nice and lively and the finish was dry. My biggest gripe with DM’s Kolsch is the drinkability. For this style it should be crisp, clean, and chuggable.

Muddy blond color with small head. Light grassy aroma, with light cereals. Smooth mouthfeel; some cereals flavor, not exactly breadish, with hints of grassy hops, correct bitterness, some final astringency.
Too dirty to be in-style, but not too bad either.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden, white head. Nose is sulphur, sweet malt, floral hops. Flavour is sulphur and sweet malt, crackery. The sulphur/cracker combination is interesting but not particularly quaffable.

Picked up at Brewforia Meridian last week for a very pricey $5... But well made. Pours a slightly hazed straw golden below a 1 finger stark white head that sticks around for a while and leaves good lacing. Nose is pretty traditional... light pale maltiness ... slight bigger than standard grassy hoppiness.. Light fruitiness and a touch of sulfur. Fairly dry throughout the palate, but there is enough residual maltiness to bring out a minerally/sulfur quality and accentuate a bigger than expected bitterness.. a little malt sweetness shows on the finish with warmth... hops are sorta spicy/grassy, but overall pretty light. Body is light with a good carbonation.... very drinkable... I would buy this again if it wasn’t so damn expensive.

Draft at the source. Hazy golden color, white edge head. Aroma of cigarette smoke from the guy sitting next to me. The beer itself is pepery straw. Taste is funky straw and black pepper.

Bottle to English pint, beer pours a hazy gold with a dense bright white head. Aroma is fresh cut grass, florals, slight zesty citrus, slight skunk, faint caramel and cheap pisswater lager smell. Those last four words said, it’s not strong and it’s about the subtleties. Anyway...taste is caramel, spices, citrus, pepper, slight mint, bitter herbal hops and other stuff. Palate is crisp, clean, perfect balance, nice co2, very nice to drink. Overall...a simple beer that pleases me greatly.

On tap @ Haven Gastropub. Clear golden pour with a white head. Decent bread and grain aromas. Some soapy hops, a light floral note, and lemon peel. There’s a weird bitter, grain husk flavor to this. Lemon, some soap, floral hops, and a decent sweetness. Some bread and cracker notes. Not a big fan.

500 ml bottle. Pours a yellow/gold with full head. Aromas of malts, light floral, salt, and toast. Mellow. Flavors of dough, light toasted malts, and grass. Easy to drink.
