3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 spikester (602) - Salem, USA - MAR 31, 2009
Served cloudy gold with a small white head. Fair amount of lacings. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is earthy, leather, light citrus bitter hops with a decent malt profile. Not very traditional but better for that flaw IMO. Very sessionable and judging by the short time I spent at DM Brewpub it is quite popular too. A blonde light bodied easy drinking beer with plenty of complex hop bitterness. Very nice beer.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Alphadelic (1470) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 24, 2012
Grabbed a growler of this while I was out in Hood River. It’s a lazy golden brew with a a harvest-like appearance and sudsy white foam. The aromatics are high-end cereals with a lemony twist. Smooth with a great toasty sweetness and a burst of tangy lemon zest a very mellow bitterness and a long, creamy finish. That is a seriously good beer. Awesomely quaffable, well suited to summer. Interesting but light.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BillKismet (2760) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 7, 2011
Bronze with light cover. Decent carbonation and a ring of head. Refreshing, breezy, grained nose leads to a slightly sweet, mellifluous, medium-bodied grainy flavor. For me, this one was more flavorful and enjoyable than the run-of-the-mill Kolsch.

Tap at the brewery. Pale yellow pour with a thin white head. Musty earthy hop aroma. Smooth crisp malt, light body with an earthy hop bite. Would like more fruitiness out of this, but decent.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Slight hay aroma. Hazy straw pour with thin white head. Crisp, pislner taste with bread on the finish. Thin, effervescent mouthfeel. A grassy, slightly fruity Kolsch. Would be refereshing on a summer day.

GCBF 2010. we had a good laugh at my notes on this one. Clearly I was not impressed, and a little hammered when I penned my profound observations: "So many Kolsches are like this, fuck whatever, NOT A KOLSCH!" (1.7)
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 jonas (4592) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - SEP 11, 2010
Tap. Light yeast aroma. Cloudy yellow. Light fruity spicyness on straw malt. Hay finish. Medium body, sparkling mouthfeel. Misses it’s mark.

Sampled at GCBF ’10, pours yellow blonde with a white head. This one was sadly underwhelming - bland flavours of pale malt, rice and light hops. Not good.
