3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12.7 oz bottle. Aroma is floral, dusty, lemony--very aromatic. Pours nearly clear light golden with faint pink undertones; has a thick pillowy white head with great retention. Taste runs the gamut from sweet, lightly tart, savory, finishing with a light bitterness. Itís floral and peppery as advertised; also, lemony, earthy, faint banana in the finish. Mouthfeel is a little foamy, a tad watery. I really like it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 (I think), capped. Pours a crystal clear deep bronze with rubied overtones when strongly backlit. Big fizzy platinum blonde head. Crisp dry nose showing pink peppercorns with light floral notes, some light lemon, and a bit of dry grass. Crisp light body with lively carb, almost prickly. Crisp and dry from the attack through the finish. Lightly crackery, lots of dry peppercorn, some lemon, and a bit of dry grass. Very tasty and refreshing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: Pours a vibrant amber tinted orange with a tight white head. Within the body you will see tiny bubbles rising.
Aroma: Spicy Belgian saison yeast, fresh peppercorn action, minerals.
Taste: Dry malt, spicy saison yeast, pepper corn, a bit of a rustic twang in the finish. After a few sips the peppercorn jives very well.
Mouthfeel: Modest carbonation, especially for the style. Full bodied.
Overall: I enjoy spiced saisons, and this is another one to add to my list. Didnít get much hibiscus flavor, so Iím guessing that was more for color.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampler at Beer Junction in West Seattle. There is a rose hue to the beer. Otherwise, this is one of this spiced Belgians rather than Saisons and its not that good of a Belgian. There is a bit of light rose water in flavor and aroma. Otherwise, slightly too sweet, seemed underattenuated. Slick feel to the beer, flabby not crisp, clean, bright and directed. Its not horrible but no interesting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught @ Brouwerís Cafť: † Fiery amber, moderate to large frothy white head, fairly nice lacing. † Spicy pink peppercorn nose, hibiscus, perhaps a little rose petals. † Mainly peppercorns... cant tell if its floral or wheaty, barnish... dominates for this Saison. † Spicy on the tongue, pink and green peppercorn, even a little black pepper. † I can see hibiscus, perhaps the rosebuds. † The Saison is not really detectable as this one is a spiced ale first, perhaps Saison second. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. † Feels good, a little chewy, but its all about the spices. † Finishes.... spicy, just as it started. † As it warms it gets to be a little medicinal and artificial in its spices. † Very interesting to say the least!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at GABF 2013. Lightly hazed just-darkened gold body with a short head. Straightforward nose of peppercorn and soap and rose hips. I know that sounds like just repeating the ingredients in the description, but I took these notes on my phone inside the festival and said both peppercorn and rose for this beer as descriptors without knowing they were actually ingredients. I just ran up and got a sample and jumped back out of the way a few times. I didnít pick out hibiscus but for me itís probably wrapped up in my perception of rose. So thereís some makeup powder / cosmetics notes too, yeast chalkiness. Pale and amber malt flavor profile is simple but clean, sweetness about medium for American styles, thereís a lingering green leafy basil quality and the malt tends to get a little chewy / syrupy in the finish.
