COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Molten is the most aggressive IPA in our little family, yet it somehow manages a great balance… while still achieving full hop overdrive. This year’s offering is stronger than the last and features a more complex hop bill, with citrus notes dominating. Dry-hopped with enormous bagfuls of whole hop flowers, which provide added aroma and flavor without harsh bitterness. Watch out, this brew is deadly!

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark golden with a rich off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a full-bodied caramel malt flavor with lots of carbonation and a dry bitter finish.

Draught at The Beer Junction, Seattle
Blond color with creamy head. Manure aroma, earthy hops, initially; some yeasty dough and feet later. Smooth and lean mouthfeel, with light pleasant sweetness; drinkable malts, followed by resiny hops.
Good beer, but with some flaw.

Pricey bottle picked up at Brewforia Meridian last night for about $8... Expensive. Pours a hazy dark golden... nice lacing and retention. Nose is light citrus/piney hoppiness... flavor has nothing better to offer... I want to like it more, but it is sooo pedestrian. Nothing good to brag about.

That heat is a slight burn of both hop bitterness and that ABV. The aroma is a mixture of dried tropical fruit and the bad sounding but not always bad, cat pee with a tinge of white wine barrel. It pours a burnished orange color with lots of bubbles rising upward. Bitterness is strong but does fade out before it wears out its welcome. The end is quite dry and continues with the wine character. Plus a touch of dried orange and wheat.

Draught. Super aggressive IPA with a blisteringly hoppy bite. This is serious stuff.

In short: A nourishing, fruity and bitter blond IPA. Too easy to drink.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase, bottle forwarded to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium white head.
In long: The aromatic hoppy nose is fruity (tropical and exotic fruits) over a bed of flowers. In mouth the beer is nourishing. A full body full of bready malts soaked in yeast. A generous hopping. A sharp bitterness that is at first white grapefruits then developing tropical fruits. The whole thing really tastes like a fresh bakery white bread soaked in sweet condensed fruit juice whit a commanding bitterness. No alcohol presence, this 9% brew drinks like a session beer. There probably wasn’t more than a few hours between the invention of beer and the first time man put cheese on a tortilla chips.

On draft at brew pub. Slightly sweet with a spicey hop flavor and a sweet finish. A touch of alcohol noticeable in the finish. ---Rated via intercellular device

Alright, maybe I got a really good bottle of this. And kept it the right amount of time. I don’t know exactly, but this ish is AMAZING. Piney resinous glads drip hop juice all over you with some sort of spicey background grown in the forest. I mean, they’re not joking, this is full on reality mothafucka!!

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits beer tasting on 06/14/2013: Pours a hazy orange-gold color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, hops and sweet malt. Medium to full body with flavors of resiny hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draft at Bailey’s Tap Room in Portland. Pours hazy gold with no head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, faint apple. Taste is citrusy hops backed by sweet malt. Finish is sweet... a great DIPA.
