Deep mahogany body covered with a thick beige head. Exceptionally fragrant with pumpkin spice that overwhelms the senses with ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. The flavor is, however, a let down. Tannic nutmeg and allspice leaves an unpleasant bitterness on the tongue, leaving a scar of blandness. Not awful, this just does not come together very well.

Tap. Dark copper-brown. Rich foam. Chocolate malt and warm spice scent. Nice spice front to back. Like a chocolate spice winter warmer. Nice.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a nice slightly cloudy brown. Huge dried spice nose (oregeno, rosemary, cinnamon?), lots going on and a little hard to pinpoint. Smooth malty body, toffee, spices and cinnamon in the taste. The spices stay with you through the finish. Spices kind of muddle up in the aroma a bit, but interesting beer.

Nutmeg, cloves and allspice on the nose. Faint cinnamon. Deep hue of brown underneath a taupe head. Allspice starts, but has a tannic, barklike bite that lingers. Anise noticeable on the finish. Medium bodied. There may be a good brown in here somewhere, but it’s buried underneath the spices.
