COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THE VAPORIZER is a golden-hued Pale Ale that features a beautifully hoppy aroma and flavor. The malt is 100% Gambrinus Pilsner, our sweet and supple house malt from Gambrinus Malting in British Columbia. The hops are primarily of the Challenger variety, grown on a single farm in the Yakima Valley. We dry-hop THE VAPORIZER to pump up the hoppy goodness. It’s an appetizingly dry, clean and pure-tasting take on a hoppy Pale Ale. Brewed with Gambrinus Pilsner malt and Challenger hops. 6% ABV, 50 BU

Bottle to pint glass. Pours a clear amber-gold with moderate head. Flavor and aroma are both restrained. Slight cracker malt.

Draft. Slightly hazy straw pour. Medium frothy white head. fair bit of lacing and good retention. Muddled aroma of yeast, herbs, dough. Taste is also murky, like a toned down Belgian. medium body and carbonation. Nothing jumped out as either good or bad here really.

Jaune pale avec une petite robe blanche. L’arôme du houblon avec un peu du pin. En bouche c’est léger et d’une amertume moyenne avec une finition sec.

i see where the belgian pale or ipa comparisons come in - it seems a little unfocused perhaps - like a hybrid apa/bipa. Grassy hops, yeastier than expected. Not clean, but crisp finish. It was ok.

Appearance: pours with a medium white head, the beer is a light gold slightly hazy color Aroma: pale grain, some grass, subtle but smells good Taste: pale malt grain initially, pretty strong bitter kick, Palate: average carbonation, bitter aftertaste, light mouthfeel Overall: pretty good, nice pale malt backbone, the hops add a good bitter kick and aroma, could use more hop flavor besides the bitterness, easily drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear orange pour, with a nice head, in the style of a Belgian strong ale or a tripel. The smell is surprisingly like a Belgian pale ale, as well (I was expecting a typical American hop-bomb): citrusy Belgian yeast throughout, with some soft cheese present, as well. The taste - bread, white wine, citrusy hops and a bitter backbone. Very dry.

At a midweek Meet and Greet I was able to sample a number of Double Mountain’s offerings This representative release fell squarely in the middle - an unremarkable pale ale that gets the job done without any fuss.

Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy base looked like unfiltered hay juice covered by a layer of protective white foam. Grass and citrus set the tone although the bitterness is not as intense as expected from the initial deScription.

Flavor / Palate - Citrus and bitterness permeate the profile which does not deviate too far from a blend of herbs, grass clippings, and lemon. The results don’t blow one away but do manage to get the job done. I probably wouldn’t go crazy over a bottle. However as a starter for a session this release gets the job done.

Me thinks me expected something totally different but me thinks me glad this wasn’t what was ’expected’. Heavy grass dump into the air during the pour and a hint that maybe this is off - that was mainly due to my steadfast mindset of a beastly APA. In a way it kind of reminds me of a weak ass BIPA - reminds - not ’is’. It’s got a bit of weed stank to it, bit of fruity citrus... is this a pilsner? I think it’s a pil. Flaves - dry dry dry, bit of grass, loaf, lemon sourness. If I want a pil I’ll buy this instead.
