THE VAPORIZER is a golden-hued Pale Ale that features a beautifully hoppy aroma and flavor. The malt is 100% Gambrinus Pilsner, our sweet and supple house malt from Gambrinus Malting in British Columbia. The hops are primarily of the Challenger variety, grown on a single farm in the Yakima Valley. We dry-hop THE VAPORIZER to pump up the hoppy goodness. It’s an appetizingly dry, clean and pure-tasting take on a hoppy Pale Ale. Brewed with Gambrinus Pilsner malt and Challenger hops. 6% ABV, 50 BU

Tap at the brewery. Pale yellow pour with a thin white head. Huge citrus hop aroma, very resiny. Taste is smooth crisp malt with a big citrus hop bitterness. Well done refreshingly hoppy ipa.

Draft at uber. Pours a hazy pale gold with a dense and creamy white head and tons of lace. Delectable grapefruit and pineapple nose. Creamy medium body. Mild soapy toasty mid palate. Caramel and grapefruit showing, not real developed. Mild finish.

My Bottom Line:
Lean-bodied and prickly, this Pale Ale’s subtle citrusy, spicy hops build a refreshing brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the hazy pale golden.
-This is extremely drinkable (6% abv?!?).
-Mouthfeel is a tad watery though...
-On paper, this looks like Benelux’s Sabotage, but the Sabotage delivers much more efficiently.
-Malts don’t offer much in the way of flavor or comfort (and I usually love pils malts).

On tap at Naked City.

Faint straw colored with quickly dissapating white head; lacing persists. Fairly neutral aroma with slight northwest hop presence. Light and slightly watery mouthfeel, but fits a session beer nicely. Good balance between malt and hops. Bitterness does not show up much on the front palate, but as malt fades, bitterness arrives. Finish is clean and crisp.

draft. pale gold body with a fine-bubbled white head. highly attenuated pilsner malt gives it a light body, low sweetness/high dryness and a moderately husky/biscuit/cracker-like flavor. the hops are bright and pungent with mild cheesecloth and heavier pine shavings. snappy, dry and lively, it’s an interesting take on IPA using all pils malt, and while it’s certainly drinkable and enjoyable I think the body would benefit from a bit of pale two-row.

Draft @ Washington Brewers Festival 2010, Kenmore, WA. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty slightly grassy hoppy aroma with some floral hints. Fruity malty grassy citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus finish.

(Draught) Sampled at GCBF 2010 on September 11, 2010. Yellow colour. Interesting tonic aroma melds with the scent of berry seed. Flavour is yeasty and too citrus. Lemon bomb.

Cask @ Parkway. Opaque, dark gold pour with a short white head leaving a medium, coarse lace. Lemon and pine fresh hop nose leading into a medium-light, citrus, tea and fresh-hop flavored body. Prolonged bitter grapefruit, peppery finish. Not a traditional American IPA. If you ’believe’ in IPA sub-categories such as dark or black IPAs, I would submit that Vaporizer is a light or blonde IPA. Interesting, but has a lot of competition as a straight IPA.
