bottled, very clear amber pour with billowy light tan head, big nose of grassy hops with some dry cereal notes in back, very clean aroma, much mellower taste then expected with pleasent light toasted malts and hops at front and finish, higher then expected carbonation, clean palate with slight residual grassy hop notes, very easy drinker

Bottle. Pours a very clear amber color with a small off-white head. Nose is a little bitter, like some hops in there have turned old. I can get a little caramel in there, but it’s subtle. Taste is also old and a little bitter. Very little substance, and it’s clearly been on the shelf too long.

Bottle. Looks exactly like their "pale ale" and frankly tastes almost identical, too. Yep, it’s amber. Very even keeled and clean, with little to distinguish it in any way whatsoever. Mild caramel malt, sweet finish, light hop kiss. (#5393, 12/1/2013)

Amber with a small off white head - hints of caramel malt in the aroma - Bdoy is of caramel malt with a small hint of hops - Short thin finish - Something is not quite there and it is not interesting at all

Thanks to iNBe. Reminds me of the ales that came out in the early days of the microbrew movement. Decent stuff, not super exciting put very drinkable. Serving: Bottle

Bottle from variety pack. Carmel and malts in the nose. Pretty average amber. Wouldn't seek it or turn it down.

Six-pack from grocery. Caramel and biscuit, with a touch of hay/grass aroma. Medium body with a a mix of bitter and sweet. Finishes easy with some lingering sweetness. Pretty good overall.

12 oz bottle from a Sampler Pack from Safeway in Davis, CA. Pours light amber with a 3 finger foamy beige head. Aroma is floral. With a little caramel. Med body. Flavor is floral hop followed by mild roast malt. Finishing much more hoppy than many ambers. Not too bad.

marcus (6022) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 10, 2013
Pours cloudy amber with a thin off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a way too sweet red malt flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Not much taste.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had an amber/red colored body with a one finger white foamy head that leaves a great amount of speckled spider web lacing. The smell had a decent amount of caramel malts, lightly hopped. The taste was mainly sweet through the malts, dry bitter aftertaste and finish. On the palate, it sat really light, was pretty sessionable, and the carbonation is pretty smooth and decent for the style. Overall, this was not a bad American Red ale, but it wasn’t exactly anything to really seek out again either.
