3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This one poured a deep amber colour with a creamy/foamy, off white head. Scents include citrus, spruce, bread and spice. First swig was quite creamy with a load of medium level of IBUís. Flavours of spruce hops and a little caramel are most predominant. Finish is quite bitter with flavours of spruce lingering.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dirty bronze colour with a nice white head that leaves considerable lacing behind.
Aromas are grassy hops, balanced quite nicely with sweet caramel malts.
The palate has some creaminess to the mouthfeel, with tastes of caramel, rye, vanilla on the mid swallow, and a nice bitter hop finish.
In a word this one is balanced. Incredibly so, with a wide range of aromas and tastes. One of the best kept secrets in the LCBO.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Frothy off-white head and bubbly golden amber body. Aroma is of strong roasted malts and grains mostly, but with floral highlights. Flavour is at first subdued, leading to an expanse of bitter-sweet, floral characteristics ending on a lingering, high bitter note.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Roasted cereals, spicy rye, mild caramel, piney hops, bitter finish. Not a bad rye ale but a bit overly roasted, almost like burnt grain.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
473ml can. I found I got more of the roasting than the rye, but it was still pretty good. Worth a try.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
473ml can from the LCBO. Amber/brown body with very minimal off-white head. Seems to be a generic APA with the addition of rye. Grapefruit, pine, freshcut grass aromas are present with the rye flavoring coming out more throughout the taste.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
enjoying this one. Usually rye ales seemed to be accompanied by something else, typically hops. This is pure rye. Incredibly flavorful.
