2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Couleur dorée avec un col plus ou moins résistant. Nez de vieux houblons et de caramel. En bouche c’est une IPA bas de gamme, rien de bon a dire sur cette bière. A ne pas esseyer...

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
473ml can from the LCBO. MmolllllqLighter amber body with thick white foamy head. Expected notes of pine and fresh cut grass, no citrus present. Softer carbonation with a lighter body. Abrupt finish for the style. Tame. Not too memorable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour is dark gold with frothy white head that lingers and leaves some nice lacing. The nose on this beer is very faint. There’s a bunch of stuff going on here, but I feel like you need to be a basset hound to identify it all. Caramel and pine, something that could be tropical fruit, and a subtle soapy smell (points for alliteration?) Taste is a sweet bready malt, caramel, faint toasted notes, sweet fruit. The finish is kind of sort of almost dry, with a bit of pine showing up at the very end. It’s not quite a British IPA, but it’s like a British take on an APA. Decent but kind of meh.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A can from the LCBO. Served in a pilsner glass. A clean hoppy aroma but fairly neutral. The taste is bitter with pine & maybe hints of tropical fruits with a decent malt backbone. A solid IPA but not much more than average, I love the name though.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is faint sweet honey. Taste is flat but with mild hoppy bitterness. Nothing much else. More hoppy aftertaste. Accessible IPA for the masses.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Couleur de cuivre avec une petite tête blanche. L’arôme de pamplemousse avec un peu de citron. Pas mal amer pour un ’session IPA’ avec du malt et les agrumes. Très bonne avec plein du corps pour une bière ’session’.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
16 oz can at the Hart House Beer Festival, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear orange-amber with a small off-white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves no lace. The nose has delicate citric and English-style hops paired with caramel and bready malts. There is also a soft pine character. The flavour is medium-sweet with notes of candy, honey, slight caramel and a hint of hops from the nose. The finish is medium in length, clean and slightly hoppy. On the palate, it is light in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a respectable English-style IPA but not terribly complex. 2014-07-31

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear golden amber with a fat finger of fluffy white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim and spotty lacing. Nose is bready malt, slight citrus, mango, and pine. Taste starts moderately sweet, giving way to a slightly dry pineapple finish. Medium to light body, slightly slick, with low sustained carbonation and a decently bitter finish.
I wanted to like this more, I really did. I was starting to get excited about the possibility of a decent craft brewery with an interesting range of products being locally available. This, however, feels like a little bit of a letdown. The finish is not bad at all, but the aroma and flavour just don’t quite have the punch one would expect from an IPA - at least, not from an A/IPA, but to be honest this doesn’t even feel like an English IPA. That being said, it does get a bit better as the pint progresses, so maybe my palate is still a bit blown out by the rye beer I had before this one. Might have to try this one again to give it a fair review.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is mostly honey, with a little citrus in the back. Taste is strange, almost artificial. Medium bitterness, but nothing great...
