3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Itís not too often that I see my regulars giving a higher rating for a beer than the crowd, but in this case a 3.3 from Freaky_tiki makes it interesting. This beer was chosen for my by my daughters as a birthday present, so take note cartoons on a can are a real draw fro 3 and 5 year old girls. Pours a rich, clear golden with a reliable finger of head. Nose is very malty with sunny hay with syrup in the nose that overlays any hops. Taste is equally heavy on the malts, with mild sweetness and heavier on the bittering hops which linger. Not much of an IPA, especially by todayís hop-bomb standards, but drinkable. I suppose itís training wheels approach to hops is the sessionable part of this beer, rather than the booze level. Personally I donít care about the IBU if they are well balance, as Iíve given hop-adverse folks hop-bombs that they love, so maybe training wheels shouldnít be necessary.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Canned. NS 2015. Not crazy about this one. Very dry and tart. Too citrusy for my liking. Lacked the hops I had hoped for. I found that it just left me thirsty.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can from LCBO. Pours a near clear amber with a modest off-white head. The nose is earhy hops, very faint fruits. The same strange (yeasty?) note I got from their Prison Break Pilsner - not a fan of that. Taste is fruity sweet and slightly bitter-like, with an earthy-dirty bitter finish. Slightly watery with moderately active carbonation. Itís a disappointment. Not really related to the commercial description on the can.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
(can) clear, amber colour with a small beige head; aroma of fruit compote; simple, balanced flavour (that is if you can find any flavour), I have had brown ales with more hops than this...

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
473ml can into English pint. Pours a golden straw colour with light white head, narry a fizz from the pop of the top. Nose of light citra, malts. More malt-forward flavour, but lasting bitter astringency in the finish. Not a whole lot to it, and there are plenty of better locals readily available.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
473 ml can. Pours a dark gold with a large billowy white head. Aromas are quite malty with a touch of resin. Tastes are similar with malt forward and pine on the finish. Medium to high carbonation, creamy, and a fairly lengthy astringent finish. Not a bad IPA but still a little heavy on the malts for my tastes.
