bdettweiler (57) - KITCHENER, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 20, 2013
Clear golden straw yellow with small white head that’s in it for the long haul, leaving plenty of lacing on the glass. Smells like fresh bread , caramel, banana and a little grassy hops. Smooth and light bodied with average carbonation, the taste is like the aroma - sweet bready malts in the fore and slightly less than ripe banana and grassy, slightly bitter hop finish. Very refreshing and good for a style that is not my usual cup of beer.

Can 473 ml
Aroma: solid malt depth, fairly soft in approach. Light floral noble hop feel. Fell of meadow after rain. Very nice.
Look: poured with slight haze , golden in color. Medium plus white top with fragmental lace. Head could be denser.
Taste etc: medium bodied. Soft body with medium carbonation. Gentle with herbal leafy hop approach. Ontario has another excellent lager offering.

473mL LIkbo can. Clear gold with a large white, fluffy head. Aroma: nice pils malts and a hint of grassy hops. Flavour: very nice pale and pils malt body with a bitter finish that seems vaguely hoppy. There’s a metallic edge to it that some may not like. A decent Sunday afternoon drinker on a hot day.

Poured from can. Light golden colour with head that seemed a bit too carbonated, but ended frothy. Nice lacing that lasted throughout. Light floral hops aroma. Medium body with light sweetness and balanced hops bitterness. Very enjoyable and well done.

Can from the LCBO. Bright light golden with a medium sized pure white head. Aroma of straw, a bit of bread, noble hops, and hints of lemongrass and lime leaf. Medium-light body, crisp and quenching. Flavour is Pretty much bang on the style - mellow and mildly sweet malt up front, with a good hit of grassy and herbaceous hops in the finish. Bitterness builds nicely as it warms up a bit, with notes of cut grass and lemon lingering on the palate. Quite nice!

473ml can from the LCBO. pours golden with a lasting white head that laces. puffy pils malt aroma, some generic nobel hops there too. the flavour is similar but there is a yeasty bite in there too. served in a trappist glass this might pass as a belgian blonde ale. overall its weird but enjoyable, ill buy this again.

probstblueribbon (2944) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 25, 2013
473 ml can from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear golden with a modest bright white head. Aroma: Spicy, herbaceous, slightly green/grassy/peppery, a touch floral and perfumed, strong wet biscuits/crackers, a touch of lemon, nice. Palate: Medium body, slick, moderate effervescence with some prickly bubbles. Flav.: Peppery/spicy hops, a little green/grassy, slightly less malt presence, a touch sweet and fruity, pretty nice; dy with decent bitterness and a pleasant, spicy/herbal finish.

Pretty good stuff.

Papillon (379) - Sudbury, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 16, 2013
473 mL Can. Murky yellow body with a thin white head leaving some stringy lace. Actually I like how the head clings to the glass in a thin flowing film when I tilt it, otherwise its looks aren’t that tantalizing. Aroma of sweet light malts with notes of clover, honey, and banana, and peppery hops. Flavor of light malts with hints of citrus and pear, aftertaste of lemon peel and peppery hops, and a nice clean finish. This Pils is no slouch for character.
