GoufCustom (1616) - HONG KONG - SEP 28, 2016

330 ml bottle bought at Bien Jamon’s booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during HKTDC Food Expo 2016.

Looks: Clear golden with a thin ring of dirt-like yeast sediments Three-quarter finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing with near zero carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant Ale malt, with strong passion fruits, mango, grapefruits, cat piss, strong floral, honey, pine, spice, strong lemon peels, biscuits, light yeast and grass.

Taste: Near zero sweet Ale malt, with grains, grapefruits, strong floral, molasses notes, pine, light resins, spices, dry biscuits, light yeast, strong lemon, mid to strong bitter hops and fresh grass.

Body: Close to light body. Thin, and slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Fairly good Ale maltyness in a slightly watery background. Grainly, with pretty strong grapefruits and strong floral. Minimal sweetness, piney and quite spicy. Dry biscuity with strong lemon to round. Good!

Hoppiness: Strong passion fruits, mango, grapefruits, cat piss, strong floral, pine, spice, strong lemon peels and grass in nose. Grapefruits, strong floral, pine, light resins, spices, strong lemon and fresh grass in taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, mid to high astringent oozy malty finish.

After Taste: Quite dry; Flowery and bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one’s has a satisfying tropical fruit hoppiness in aroma. Taste is lightweight as in Session IPA. Very sessionable, but I wish there’s more fruity sweet taste to compliment the nice aroma. Worth a try!

Miltei kirkas, hieman utuinen, kullankeltaisesta hieman oranssinsuuntaan kallellaan oleva olut melko vähäisellä vaahdolla.

8th July 2016: shared bottle at Bodega Fermin with the RBESG guys. Golden bodied with a good, full, white head that hung around. Tropical fruits in the nose with a dry, citrusy flavour in the mouth. OK.

Bottle at Bodega Fermin. Clear golden with lasting white head. Fruity hops with lime, lemon and passion fruit. Light chalk and mineral, fresh baked bread. Light bitter and sour. Light bodied with dry feel. Damn there’s a lot of beers like this in Spain!

Pours a clear amber color with medium white head. Aroma is citrusy, floral, herbal and slightly tropical. Hoppy taste, citrusy and grassy, tropical flowers and a good bready backbone to it. Moderate bitterness on the aftertaste. Light and refreshing, pretty sessionable.

330ml bottle (K Kamppi, Helsinki)
Slightly messy fruity hop aroma, some odd esters. Pleasantly fleshy fruit and floral hoppy taste. Malts light, palate light. Good quaffer, fits a hot summer day well. Finish touch yeasty and gently floral and bitter.
