In bottle. Smells like malt and blood. Tastes like white wood and white peach. A good winter ale but not my favorite style.

Pours dark honey color, hazy. Head is minimal, vanishes into a very thin film. Fruity aroma, led by apple, herbs and hints of malt. Body is moderate, carbonation is low. FInish is warm, sandy, spicy. Taste is well balanced, roasted fruits, smooth bitterness.

Botella de 330ml. Copa Globo. Saboreada en mar´13. Color ámbar anaranjado y apariencia velada. En nariz aromas de maltas dulces y caramelos, notas intensas de hierbas y especias con matices de fruta madura y toffees. Entrada de maltas dulces moderadamente tostadas que son zarandeadas por un amargor cítrico que permanece hasta el final. Cuerpo medio/ligero y carbonatación moderada. Astringencia cítrica en el intermedio y textura aguada. Final amargo y seco. Trazos de frutos secos en el retrogusto. Los lúpulos desequilibrados desbordan las maltas. Inesperado siendo Dougall´s. 330ml Bottle. Snifter glass. Enjoyed on mar´13. Orange amber color, veiled appearance. Sweet malt & candy aromas, pungent herbal & spiced notes as well as hues of ripe fruit & toffee to the nose. Sweet mildy toasted malt upfront is shacked by citric bitterness that lingers into the finish. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Citric astringency in the middle. Watery texture. Long bitter finish. Nut hints on the aftertaste. Unbalanced hops overwhelm malts. Unexpected from Dougall´s.

[ASPETTO] ambra scuro, tendente al marrone con riflessi aranciati, limpida; schiuma leggermente giallastra, abbondante , fine e buona persistenza [OLFATTO] media intensità, con evidenti profumi dati dai luppoli, cascade in primis, accompagnati da contributi dei malti, con note di caramello, miele. C’e’ spazio anche per tenue note fruttate che ricordano mela matura ed un leggero profumo alcolico [GUSTO] anche in bocca spiccano i luppoli, con una amaro in crescendo, che domina totalmente la seconda metà della bevuta, finendo con note vegetali, erbacee e un leggero piccante che stuzzica il fondo della gola complice di una alcolicità ben inserita ma contenuta. Il tutto sorretto da note maltate a bilanciare, con contributi che tentano un timido dolce caramellato, melassa. [TEXTURE] corpo medio, sensazione oleosa, media carbonazione, alcohol percettibile. [COMMENTO FINALE] una pale ale molto ben confezionata che ricorda, per luppoli impiegati, una ale americana, al limite del concetto IPA. Una buona alcolicità che lavora ottimamente e si fa notare nel finale appoggiando gli amaricanti che dominano il prodotto. Un corpo che sorregge bene il tutto, malti che fanno bene il loro compito dando consistenza e quel tocco dolce di contrasto. dougall’s da approfondire!

Amber color with a minimal white head. Cara malts and candy sugar in nose. The same in mouth with some spices and medium bitter finish. Not a must but drinkable if you find in good price.

33cl bottle. Coppery colour with an off-white head, medium duration. Aroma has notes of caramel, candy sugar. Flavor has an average bitterness, with some sweet hints that gives it a good balance; also nuts and brown sugar are present. Carbonation is medium.

330ml bottle. Spicy, caramel, nut aromas. Pours bright copper, clear, poor off-white head. Medium body. oily texture, average carbonation. Taste is mild bitter, spicy, warming, sweetness present, with a long and warm aftertaste. Simple but nice, very enjoyable.

Brown Ale on destaquen els malts caramel•litzats. Espuma amb bona retenció, lleugera i molt bevible. Un altre encert dels nois de Dougall’s.

En botella y tirador.Ale cobriza,con buena espuma y buenos encajes.Aromas a fruta madura,hierba y madera.Cuerpo medio con carácter maltoso.Buena para esos dias de invierno.

Terribly average and not exciting ale. It’s drinkable and has a bit of a bitter character that gives it levity. Some spice detected, but for the most part, this is a strong mild ale... not a great combo.
