Cask at Pigs Ear 2014 - London. Pours dark brown with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is dark malts, beat-up leather, earth and cocoa. Light sweet flavor, earthy, with some bitter cocoa and cutting roast. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying on the finish with dried and aged dark fruits, dirt, toasted leaves. Respectable.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2014. It pours darkest brown with a tiny white head. The nose is soft, roasty, chocolate, salted caramel, hot cocoa and earth. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasted malt, earthy, good bitterness, wood, tar, dried leaves, leather and cocoa with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A quaffable porter says me.

Cask from Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Served superbly (in oversize glass as always from the Dove). Black with just right amount of tan head. Soft, velvet-thick texture. Gentle infusion of roast chocolate. Slightly bitter finish. A most enjoyable pint.
