Bottle from The Wine Cellar. Deep chestnut with a persistent creamy beige collar. Good wholesome waft of hedgerow fruit, musty English hop, strudle, raisin, ash and apple yeastiness on the snout. Sliver of Bamberg bacon and pale smokiness in the mouth, chocolate, nuts, apple, oak, slick caramel palate, lingering smoke and nuts. This is almost a Rauch- an English Smoked. Berry fruit and bonfire. Tasty, well-conditioned strong ale, and another good one from this local, previously unexplored brewer.
