2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 davidpl (435) - Santiago, CHILE - MAR 29, 2008
Appearance: black color. Little to medium head with beige color and some lasting.
Aroma: sweet toast-malts and even oat (reminiscences) smells. Aromatic reminiscences of cream, vanilla, cookies, coffee and chocolate. Nice.
Flavor: very light toast taste fro the style, some insipid. Slight acid touch, maybe for an incipient infection. Light toast in the end, but ephemeral and very mineralized.
Palate: light body and watery texture.
Without the body, texture, toast nor complexity of a stout. Excessive mineralized.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Ramenen (463) - San Salvador, EL SALVADOR - AUG 24, 2007
Thanks to ghawener. Tough night for the brazilians. Really weak stout, maybe because we drank it after expiration date. Could improve if drank fresh.
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 ghawener (1243) - San Salvador, EL SALVADOR - AUG 23, 2007
Bottle: I’ll have to re-taste my bottle was ’best by July 2007’ so it might have been too old. I´ll re-rate as soon as I can get a new, fresh bottle. But defininately do not drink if over recommended date!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Stine (1399) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUL 5, 2007
Bottle at Portofino Cafe, Mendoza. Charred oak appearance with creamy texture. Robust nose of roasted hazelnuts, semi-sweet chocolate and maple wood. Some tobacco qualities on the tongue with a full cabernet vinousness arriving with warmth. A subtle rub of rose petals. Dry and quiet palate, softly and slowly coating. Subtle. Well made.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 10, 2006
Dark clear brown ale with a thin off white head. Very light chocolate, with notes of figs. In mouth, a light roasted coffee and sweet chocolate, very thin and lacking in caracter. Not as good as the others. On tap, May 2006.
