Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, spicy, earthy, light maybe chili dusty ? Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted bitter, dry, spicy ? earthy, chili notes ? Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2012 - London. Pours clearish red-brown with a light beige cream head. Dark malt nose with hints of coffee and burnt wood. Light to medium sweet flavor with definite coffee notes, light burnt leaves, some cocoa, mellow spiciness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Decent condition. Light to medium sweet finish with hints of chili heat, semi-dark malts, faint chocolate. Very decent beer overall.

Gravity Dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Very dark mahogony brown, approaching black, with a thin tan head that clings to the edge of the glass and forms a film atop. Nose is roast malt, dark toffee, light chocolate, touch of spice. Taste comprises light coffee, dark roast malts, touch of chocolate, light spice. Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Decent porter!

Pigs Ear. Opaque dark brown beer, no real head. Palate is light and dry. Tangy dark malts, a little dried fruits. Finishes dry with a little coffee coming through. Decent.
