Cask (gravity dispense) at Woodies Beer Festival, New Malden on 21 August 2010. Copper colour. Off-white head. Excellent condition. Fruity malt aroma. Subtle roast and caramel notes. Some tangy hops. Sweetish on the palate with some spicy notes. Herbal character. A little reminiscent of mauby, a Caribbean drink made with bark and spices. Bitter aftertaste. Unusual but not unpleasant.

Cask-conditioned at the Coronation, Bristol 24/08/10. Deep, clear chestnut in colour with a billowy white head. Nutty aroma with some bready malts and hint of sweetness. Flavour was malty with plenty of hedgerow plum fruit, sweetish cereals, a touch of marmalade and a decent, bitter finish. Unusual and enjoyable.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small off white head. Rough, slightly metallic malt aroma, sweetness coming through with a hint of lemon. Taste is sweet, nutty and earthy with some burnt cardboard. Mid bitter finish. Excellent. Cricket themed beers have been thin on the ground this year.

Cask @ The Rake. Copper coloured with a thin white head. Has a hoppy floral aroma and as mentioned below there is a lemon washing up liquid hint. Floral hops and a touch of malt in the taste with a sort of citrus zing to it. I found it quite refreshing.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Svesse (5207) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2007
(Cask at Priory Arms, Stockwell, London, 7 Aug 2007) Chestnut brown colour with brief head. Malty nose with dark fruit, raisins and prunes. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, toffee and earthy hops in the finish. Was there a hint of butterscotch as well? A bit too much malt sweetness for me. As some have stated before me, a bit odd, but drinkable.
