Taste: crispy, delicious combination of roasted malts and hops. Rating made about first tasting few days later it tasted as old real ale was drinkable not vinegar but not so delight any more

Sampled at home tasting. Amber Town pour with small off white head. Malt, dark fruit and slight chocolate aroma. Flavour sweet fruit, chocolate, coffee flavour. Light body and low carbonation.

Originally had this in a bottle thanks to Eugene. On cask at The Haymarket. Pours a dark brown colour with a fair, light tan head, Aroma of roasty malt, brownies and caramel. Flavours of coffee, roasty malt and burnt toast. Mild carbonation and CO2 prickle. Very nice.

Cask in Argyll Arms. Ruby red dark brown stout with medium creamy stout Head. Nose is pruney, ale fruity, bit of roasted malt. Taste is plumy and pruney, with the fruit dominant. Fruity ale notes. Bod is medium and light for a stout, more like a dark ale. Touch of dryer roasted notes on the finish.

Bottle at the 2nd East Croydon Beer Tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep brown, with a ruby highlights and thin off-white head. The nose is caramel, red grape, wine and chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, blackcurrant, blueberry, metal and filter coffee, with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2011 Dark brown pour with a medium, off-white head. Aroma has dark malts and subtle fruits. Medium sweet flavor, dark fruits, decent roasted malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Short roasted malt finish, slight dryness, more dark fruits. Nice beer. (3.5) Bottle at the East Croydon Beer Tasting, October 2011, thanks to me. Pours clear, dark brown with a big, off-white head. Light roast nose, some cocoa. Subtle wood. A bit light in character overall. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation.
