2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 3, 2011
First tasted this in The Three Judges, Glasgow in April 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Dry dusty hops and lemon peel in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and superb lacing throughout. Pale malt base gives citric grapefruit flavours with a biscuity background. Dusty lemony hops add a dry bitter bite to the short aftertaste. Finish is on the tart bitter side with grapefruit peel evident. An ok session bitter for the summer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DonMagi (5599) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 3, 2006
Aroma is sweetish lightly honey malts with some floural hops. Taste is similar though weak, which is a bit disapointing, maybe past its best? Seems like more of a golden/blonde to me.
