Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Ruddy beer, with a bit of a head. Pretty decent stuff, in an Autumnal stylee. Nutty, with sweet malts and some crunchy fizz. Has a metal tang, but certainly drinkable.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A pale dark orange - close to brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of hops. The flavor is weirdly spicy with coriander standing out combined with celery and yeast.

Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter, Southwark. Reddish copper colour. Clean and reasonably bitter, with lots of dry malt. Some fruity notes on the nose. But its not very rich and the mouthfeel is a touch thin. It ends up feeling very dry but without enough body or character to quite cut it as an autumnal/winter beer.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2006 Well, not that bad, I expected a squash beer, but it was not, it was a little sweet in aroma, and the after taste was not that bad. Amber in colour and with foam.

Cask (Wetherspoons): Amber-copper in colour with a short beige head. Subdued fruity malt aroma. Flavour is rather bland, just mildly fruity malts with a bitter nondescript finish. Medium bodied bitter.

Dark red with purple darkness. Aromas are hoppier than I expected with light malts. Flavours are smokey floral hops with very light malts. Too mild for its own good.

Rare Breeds Fest. Amber from the side but a beautiful cherry red from on top. Beautifully roasty & chicory aroma. Gently sweet and full bodied malt with a little nettle finish. Interesting.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Rugby BF. A dark brown bitter with a slight maly aroma. The taste is also reasonably malty but there is not enough character. Average.
