Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee, liquorice and slightly citric/sourish aromas of wheat. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and a mild citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced stout with a gentle wheat twist. Quite nice.

Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige lace. The nose is roasted malt, milk chocolate, meat, wheat, smoke, varnish and soy sauce. The taste is wheat, chocolate, roasted malt, bread, filter coffee, medicinal, herbal, liquorice, cola, wood and varnish, with a dry finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and foamy mouth-feel.

21st November 2011 Cask at the Old Fountain. Light just passes through this very dark brown beer. Bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry with mild carbonation. Dark malt, very mild roast. A little sweet candy fruits and a typical wheat beer bubblegum note. Dry finish with hop and malt bitterness. Not bad!

Cask @ The Retreat. Pours brown black with a nice bubbly ranbed head leaving lacing. Aroma is slightly roasted, malty, a bit fruity abd sweet. Flavor is sweet, fruity, roasted malty, nicely bitter and a bit bready. Finishes bitter and roasted.

Cask at the White Horse, London. Pours brown-black with a soft, off-white head. Mild coffee and burnt wheat on the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, pleasant roast, modest cocoa. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Baking cocoa, light burnt leaf, roasty malt finish, some minerals. Very nice.

Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, soft malt, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, coffee bitter, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily and smooth, carbonation is flat. [20101130]

Cask handpull at Pigs Ear 2010. Black lasting beige. Bit of charcoal on aroma. Some cereal in mouth with a dirty burntness that I find quite attractive. Bit of cake in there too. Good. Even some dark fruit on the finish.

Cask at the Magpie & Crown, Brentford. Pours black with a red tinge around the edges and a mid-sized clingy cream or pale beige head. Coffee and roast malt on the nose, a chewy yet smooth body with notes of dark treacle, a hint of dried dates and a good solid bitterness, then a long dark roasty bitter finish. A very nice stout.
