[Cask at Wetherspoons] A light yellow beer with a small white head. The aroma is cask flat and primarily wheaty. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of lemon, leading to a dry end.

Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham during their "Wheat Weekend". Fuzzy blonde aroma. Cloudy yellow, with a scum top. Very tasty wheat beer. Some chalk, vegetable, dry fruit. Medium sweet mouthfeel, chubby, quite plain. Nice.

Spiesy and I squeezed three beers into a flying visit to the Crosse Keys (JDW), Gracechurch Street - this one, Gales Summer Hog and Brewsters Lola, and they all came over as pretty similar to me - golden summer quaffing ales. Perhaps it’s because it was a scorching hot day and I’d just spent 15 minutes on a stuffy tube train, but this went down very nicely indeed. Pale gold lager colour, with a bit of sulphur on the aroma. Crisp, citric and a bit sharp on the palate, with a hint of sweetness. Can’t say I picked up the wheat. Very pleasant. Cask (handpump).

Cask Conditioned, at The Crosse Keys, in The City.
Pale yellow, almost washed out colour, rather clear. Sulphurous aroma. No head at all. Odd grape hubba-bubba flavour but finishes well with good bitter ending. Chris_o joins in the cheeking rating session on the eve of the GBBF.

Cask Conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival '04. Very pale light beer with thin white head. Thin sweet understated beer, although after the hop experiences of the last couple of days perhaps the pallete is jaded. A little lemon peel but too much sweetness for me.
