hughie (2150), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 22, 2007 Cask, gravity, at Nottingham Beer Festival ’07. Unusual dark red colour. Fruity aroma, reminiscent of pomegranate. Slightly sour unripe raspberry taste. Low bitterness. Really rather disgusting. British brewers never seem to get fruit beers right. Maybe in five hundred years they’ll have learned to do it like the Belgians. And the Belgians will have learned to play cricket. harrisoni (5106), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 21, 2007 Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Orangey vermillion colour with lasting beige head. Very berry. Lots of raspberry and blackberry, really lovely fruit. Proper fruit added to this. Not sour, but the fruit certainly has a kick. Base beer is good too. Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England Oct 7, 2007 A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock. Looks like a bitter with grenadine in it. Aroma of malt, hops and light hints of loganberry. Nice tangy malt flavour with light bitter hops and loads of the odd tasting logans. Bitter sour finish. Reasonably interesting if not particularly great.
