Cask conditioned @ Guide Dog, Soton. Of the three golden ales sampled at the Guide Dog tonight this was far and away the best although in some respects verging on a very lagery flavour profile (in a good way). Quite a pale colour. Gently grassy almost peppery hops and very restrained malt aromas. In the body clean dry malts and easy going but assertive bitterness from the hops which makes this very drinkable. I assume the polish connection to be polish hops which I understand to be a close relative of the czech saaz. Not perhaps quite the beverage to wash down the pickled dills, cured meats and black breads I’ve been sampling from the multitude of Polish shops springing up in Southampton but very good all the same.

NOT really sure what a Pole would say about this name, but it was completely British on style, more bitter than Golden, but the colour was like that. Good foam, and not tiring taste.
