A deep ruby red, a rich malt flavor and a creamy head hopped just enough to compliment the bittersweet chocolate note.

Draft sample at the source. The beer is a darker brown with good clarity and a beige head of foam. The aroma has some nutty notes and a bit of chocolate and roast. The taste is somewhat sweet, but has a bit of bitterness. Medium body and medium carbonation.

4oz on tap at the brewpub. Clear dark red color. Thin tan head, with good retention. Leaves thicker lace. Medium body. Kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Mildly slick, sort of dry finish. Caramel malt, toasty, some mild milk chocolate. Much less dark than the modern american porter, this drinks more like a red or an irish ale. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. OK, not great.

Coffee flavor, but not too heavy. Smooth on the palate and one of the more drinkable ones from this brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft sample at brewpub on July 14, 2012. Almost opaque brown/ruby hue, moderate roasted malt aroma, body a bit thin, good bittersweet flavor with chocolate notes. Not the richest or biggest porter around but not bad at all.
