COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A deep ruby red, a rich malt flavor and a creamy head hopped just enough to compliment the bittersweet chocolate note.

A dark almost black pour with a nice tan lacing that lasts. An aroma of toasted malt. A nice flavor of toasted malt that gives it a nice coffee flavor. A beer that acts like it wants to be sweet but just not hardly there to meet my tastes. (I likem sweet). A decent bitter that really hangs with you. A decent palate that is just slightly watery. A good porter.

Draft, sampler: pours a nice dark brown with a tan head, roasty aroma with some chocolate. The flavors are roasty but slightly sweet too. Good, solid beer

As Woodruff Porter: A dark brown porter with a thick creamy lacing dark mocha head. In aroma, smooth coffee and bittter chocolate. In mouth, a nice smooth chocolate with smooth coffee notes, light lactic points, very nice. On tap at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, Oct. 22 2011.

On draught at Downtown Grille, Knoxville on 8 July 2006. Very dark brown with a generous beige head. Mouthfeel is light and clean. Quite roasty with just a touch of chocolate. Middle-of-the-road but very drinkable.

Had this with the Downtown Grill & Brewery sampler. It was very enjoyable. Had a good flavor and wasn’t overpowering.

looks like it should, big thick mouthfeel, oaty, tastes like it may have spent some time in a bourbon barrlel, though the bourbon flavor is very mild and could go unnoticed, oaky vanilla flavors, red wine flavors, an interesting porter

Stopped in after the Xmas Eve^3 at tronraner’s. Clear dark brown pour with reddish chestnut highlights and wispy tan head. Roasty nose with a hint of coffee. Grainy coffee flavor and toasted with some form of hop bitterness in the finish. Nothing special.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark black color with a thin tan head. The aroma was chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor was coffee, and roasted malt, with a bit of a bitter finish. This was just an average porter. The body was a little thin, but the flavor was ok.

Dark black all the way to the edges, two fingers of light tan head and nice wispy lacing. Very chocolatey aroma, hints of roasted malt. Taste is earthy, roasted coffee and a finish of sweet then bitter roasted malts.
