3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thedm (4126) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 20, 2003
TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 136. This draft brew was sampled at the Brew Pub in Knoxville Tennessee and served by an attentive staff that included the Owner, the bar manager, Daniel Goss, and the assistant brewer Joey Barbarito. This brew poured a medium sized head of frothy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that left behind a fair lace and a transparent golden brown colored uncarbonated body. It had a mild caramel malt aroma and a mouthfeel with a tingly mild start with a medium hop bite in the finish. The flavor was a nice caramel malt one.

Draft, sampler: amber color with an off white head. Strong citrus aroma and a massive hoppy bitter flavor. A bit much in my opinion.

Draft sampler pours a light amber with a white head. It is much like there ESB. Very mild hops. Very disappointed.

A copper color with white head. The aroma is not very powerful with some caramel and citrus. Flavor is rather bitter but well balanced. Some caramel, oranges, grapefruit present. A slight herbal presence. Overall a nice one.

From tap @ Downtown Grill and Brewery in Knoxville. A light amber IPA with decent head and lacing. Significant hops aroma with citrus and malts. Good carbonation. Hops and more hops - with a slightly piney middle and slight malts - then good hops finish that remains well balanced.

On draught at Downtown Grille, Knoxville on 8 July 2006. Copper colour. Quite restrained and light for an IPA but enough hops and light malt backing to produce a pleasant and drinkable, if not particularly attention-grabbing, beer.

clear gold, clean and bright hop flavor, this would definitely be a considered an american pale ale anywhere on the west coast, but that being said this is a very refreshing and not too over the top IPA that is probably more drinkable than the IPAs of the west coast, though serious hop heads may be dissapointed, the hop citrus notes make for a tasty IPA
