COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Houleuse est une bière blanche de froment. Sa légéreté et sa douceur sont accompagnées d'une saveur toute particulière générée par l' adjonction d'écorces d'oranges amères et de coriandre lors du brassage.

Not the best attempt at a Witbier. No head. No smoothness. Instead unpleasant sharp aftertaste. Spices are underwhelming.

Bottle. Pours with a minimal white head; very hazy yellow/marigold. Some coriander, flowers, oranges, apples and banana in the aroma. Flavor mirrors the aroma very closely with some sweetness, but almost a fruity sourness as well. Body is thinner, but OK. Not bad.

Bottled 33cl. It pours a hazy golden beer with a decent white head. The nose is of tarragon, coriander and lemon peel accompanied by some sourness. Lactic. Quite a lot of lemon peel in the taste. Sour. Nice bitterness. Nutmeg, cloves and tarragon showing up. A nice bite to this beer. Not much lacework. Medium bodied. Almost a bit like a Kindl Weisse. I really like the lemon peel-characteristic to this beer which is rather present in the finish. Wow! The finish is great, not doubt about this. My overall impression is quite good. Thanks a lot bov for this one!

Hazy orange color, small white head. Sourish aroma. Slightly sour flavor too. Berry-banana-like light perfumic flavor. Kind of wheat beer. Propably also a bit infected as has some sourness in it ... seems to be very common in Swiss micros.

Bottled (5.0%, thanks Bov!). Hazy yellowish orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, yeast and cookies along with some sour/acidic notes. Flavour is fruity, malty, a bit vegetably and spicy. Also some slight yeastyness.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2007 Bottled, labels said 5% ABV. Banana and sweet citrus aroma. Cloudy, yellow color, white firm head, good lace. Starts neutral with citric notes and hint of banana. More bitter finish. Average body, light dry. Refreshing, straigtforward, nothing to get excited about but ok.
