On tap at the 2009 NABA. I was told that this brewery has come under new ownership and has reopened. Pours a light amber color with a medium white head. The aroma was rich caramel malts, light hops as well. A smooth flavor of caramel malts, light citrus hops as well. Pretty decent and quaffable.

On tap @ Dr. Hops. Pours a golden yellow color. Aromas of hops and a touch of malt. Flavor is a creamy malt and a nice citrus hop. Could use more hops though.

The aroma is the best quality of this beer; it is fresh and hoppy. The taste is thin and likewise hoppy, but not well-balanced. Color is on the golden side of amber. No head formation, so no retention, and only fair evidence of lace.

Honey colored with a small head. It has a hop smell and taste with a hint of malt. The bottle has a slightly soapy taste too. Might be a pretty good beer if it was really fresh. With a name like "Dr. Hops" though it isn't as hopped as a lot of beers.

A bland understated APA, this tastes a bit outdated. Not in age, but style. It just wasn't that impressive for a pale ale. I'm not the tyle to lower the rating based on hop content, but this just straight up didn't have enough hops for a modern APA.

I honestly think this is a pale ale in name only, or perhaps I could have purchased an old bottle. I taste hardly any hops at all, tasted lots of honey and malt. Soda like head that is gone almost as soon as you pour it. No complexities at all, and very bland and boring.

bought in a Pocatello gas station and consumed on the road. mild hop nose, nice golden color but no head. unchecked rough hop taste throughout, hardly any malt

pomeranian orange, with haze and unidentified floating objects, presumably it’s either bottle conditioned or it’s the chunky variety pale ale. dish water head just bums a ride for awhile, it’s thin as hobo trousers. a faint damp root-cellar smell suggests it’s past it’s prime, though it was purchased near the brewery. aside from that, it’s a malty, caramel pale, hop occurring more in a moderate finish than in the aroma. overall kind of a home-brew quality. pretty good, tho fred eckhart probably won’t come begging for the recipe.

Huge hops on the nose, good solid head. Nice citrus and malt flavors. Fine beer from Idaho Falls.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2007 GABF 2002: Bright gold, thick head. Nice citric aroma. Creamy caramel and full malt flavor. Nice citric hops round out the malt. Well balanced.
