Squat bottle from Frank Smith’s. Pours turbid chestnut with tan head and refermented shrapnel at the bottom. Nose is dark fruit, velvety malt of the scotch and vienna variety to my nose, brown sugar, cherry, fruitcake. Tastes smooth, rich, very complex, with flavors of dark fruit, vienna malt, earthy notes, caramel, cherry, mint, and a complex finish. Yet another great beer from these guys. Like a poor man’s Westy 12.

a plum colored beer with a bit of cloudiness. vinegar aroma, faint but there, not much else throwing off from aroma. Tastes like cold brew, a lot of chocolate as the beer leaves the palette with some dark fruits. maybe even a bit of cinnamon. Very interesting. not sure I could drink a lot.

Pours a medium brown with a small tan head. Nice dark fruity and malty aroma. Smooth texture with a mildly tart taste. Not as flavorful as some original Belgian ales. A bit watered down but still has a nice flavor that fills your mouth and lasts for awhile. There is a nice warming sensation at the end. Not harsh and hide the alcohol well. Not the best Belgian style ales I’ve had but its one of the best that I’ve had the several I’ve from Draai Laag. I will definitely buy this again when I can find it.
