A big off white head slowly fades. The beer is cloudy goldn with sediment floating. A syrupy fruit aroma with heavy malt. After the first couple of sips I am still not sure what to think of this. Alcohol seems like Everclear and there is plenty of malt and sweetness. There is some fruit and Belgian yeast. This is kind of an odd duck and there really is not all that much going on. There are much better beers that come out of Belgium.

Bottle @ home. Darker blond to amber coloured beer with quite some carbonation and a medium white head. Fruity, slightly yeasty and malty sweet hinted aroma with some short herby touches. Full palate. Finish is sweet bitter balanced with a hint of malts and sweet yeasty almost alcoholic hinted notes. Heavy but enjoyable tripel.

Connecticut St Liquors, DC 330ml ($4): Pours an orange colour with a white head. Aroma is ambiguously malty, with a hint of something that I am loath to call spiciness. Taste is sweet, maybe too sweet. I don’t know how this is a Tripel because this tastes like an ambiguous Belgian Strong Ale to me. This is really a one-dimensional ale, which I will be perfectly content with never drinking again.
