2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MrManning (1945) - London, - APR 13, 2008
This one was presented to me, a pale yellow/gold with a short lived white froth. Nose is of grains and sweet pale malts with grassy hops and a mild fruitiness. Grassy hops, sweet pale malts with grains and a bit of creamed corn are the main contenders in the flavour. Sweet, honey like finish, with notes of white bread and decent hops bitterness lingering. Seems a bit all over the place, but it was above average.

A yellow lager with a thin white head. Good malt aroma, with boiled corn notes, but good hops and honey notes. Good biscuity malt in mouth, wth light floral hops. Lighter bodied but decent. On tap at BP on March 11, 2006.

(Draught) Pours a creamy thin white head with a non-carbonated, straw body. Nose of corn, honey and seeded fruit. The flavour was somewhat horseblanket and appley with a lasting bitterness and acidic finish.

Clear yellow pour with a ring of white lace. Very boring and weak aroma of honey. The flavor has the same absence of interest, the same void of quality than the flavor, I could only detect honey. The palate is very light and watery. A funny thing though, the waitress told us that they plan to brew a lighter version of this beer, personally, I don’t think it’s possible.

The Lure: Very shy and bland aroma within a clear blond gown. Sweet grain and feeble citrus fruit are finally found after much searching.
The Festivities: Honey-laden grain setting into a watery finish. Extremely tame, this one is obviously for the macro swill crowd.
Transcendence: The tractor’s broken again.
