Bottle beerbistro in Toronto. Getting really late but this smells terrific. Chocolate and barley malt, some soy sauce, a little sticky sweet. But i liked it fine enough.

Dark brown/black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of slight toasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, & some chocolate; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, caramel, coffee, fruit, and licorice; Fairly well balanced; Overall, a bit too sweet for me - decent.

This is weak. Brown colored beer with an off-white head. Weak chocolate/caramel aromas. Tastes like a watery stout, the chocolate taste is subdued by grainy notes, soy sauce too. Medium bodied, it tastes really bland. A shame really, I was expecting much more. I love stouts/porters and this one is just below average.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Nose has some roasty malts, maybe some raisins? But it’s hard to detect any of that over the overpowering aroma of sweet soy sauce. Terrible. Taste is not much better. Nice dark malts, but a syrupy sweet soy sauce taste dominates. I’m not sure what anyone sees in this. It was impossible for me to enjoy. Down the drain.

284mL bottle (wtf?) into a rocks glass. Opaque black with reds on the edges and an oily khaki head that fades fast. The aroma is pure soy sauce and booze, not too attractive. The flavor is watery soy sauce with more water, a hint of hot chocolate powder, and not much else. Bleeech.

Bottle. Fairly dark, film of a head hugging edges. Sweet malts and licorice nose. Dark fruits and dark cherry and chocolate. Way too sweet. No real back bone that is expected from a stout. Fairly watery. I give it a higher than deserved mark based on an exceptional nose.

Aroma of chocolate and barely. Has a very smooth pour from the bottle. Has a bit of a tangy after taste. Somewhat bitter on the back end.
