3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Skinnyviking (5472) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 15, 2008
Bottle. High creamy and lasting white head. Very dark brown almost black body. Coffee cocoa aroma with a touch of vanilla. Coffee cream flavor with a bit of bittness in the background. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7108) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 13, 2008
A Mes rate: bottle from the dodgy shop on the other side of Archway Road.Jet black with a thin tan head that settles to pretty much nothing. Aroma is not too bad. Restrained coffee and chocolate, some toffee and all round rather sweet. Flavour has almost none of what is in the aroma. Sweetness is about it. The coffee and chocolate are replaced with molasses and dried fruit. A strong tangy, almost brown sauce note creeps in without being welcomed too. More strong sweetness in the finish with a big fruity hit settling down to a lingering note of cardboard. The alcohol is barely noticeable throughout so it gets plus points for that. Far from great but when you are in Notting Hill and this is the best that is available you drink it... trust me.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skidds (252) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 7, 2008
I was suprised how much I enjoyed this one. It’s hard to go wrong with stouts though. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, raisons, malt hops. Same with flavour. A bit sweeter than other stouts I’ve had. Very good stuff.

It pours a nice dark brown but there was very little head. This is a light stout . It was smooth but there wasn’t much texture on the palate. It smelled a bit nutty and a slight bit of chocolate. I’m not sure how much more I can say about this one.

330ml bottle
Black and fizzy. Fizzy in the mouth too. Very sweet taste, and also quite watery in places, but packed with fruity raisins and chocolate, and with a hint of hazelnut. Very easily drinkable, covers 7.5% very well.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CQC (224) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUL 13, 2008
Sweet, pungent actually. Has a Belgian tinge to it... 284ml, it’s enough. Not a drinking, drinking stout more of a desert stout.
Nice -bu nothing like like coopers, let alone Vintage stout. Still good though. Have had a few & no nasties.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 glennmastrange (1547) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 11, 2008
Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of dark bread, burnt, molasses and dark chocolate, light hops and yeast notes of resin and earth, with cola, paper and alcohol in the background. Head is fizzy, light brown with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic and finishes the same with a little bitterness. Palate is medium, lightly syrupy and has a lively carbonation. It was okay, but the way it flattened out almost immediately wasn’t a big hit for me.

Pours dark brown/black with light brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts. Very sweet flavor with corn syrup, roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee, chocolate. Medium/full body with minimal carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. I used to drink this about 15 years ago and got excited when I saw it. However, it is not as good as I remember it to be.
