bottle. a good stout. only two things I don’t like about this beer. one, it has a very strong alcohol smell(a bit over powering) and two it leaves a burnt feel in the front of my mouth. other than that this beer is very good. great lacing in the glass. malt and caramel for sure.

Wasn’t sure what to expect with this but I like Red Stripe and some good things were said about this so tried it. A nice surprise, a very mellow stout. Poured with a nice off white head that lingered lightly through to the end. Pretty dark-almost black. Not really bitter at all. Rather smooth, nice malt feel on the pallet, tinge of sweet but not over done. Bit of a caramel finish. Very easy to drink and no real Alc. taste, maybe not enough Stout power for those who like more umf!

I was really impressed by this beer. It had a nice smooth yet sweet taste. Dark brown color with a nice thick tan head. Caramel and malt flavor with just a hint of coffee and wood. I would recommend this to any stout lover... it’s well worth a try.

I enjoyed this sweet stout. Tasted very sweet. Dark brown. Very malty and rich tasting. Tastes like an miperial stout, or a Guinness extra stout. Decent brew, and I love how these beers are the biggest sellers in Jamaica.

Foam Rangers January meeting. Rich brown with tan head. Roasted malts with caramel. Taste is the same with a touch of wood.

284ml (Imperial Cup, I suppose) bottle, courtesy of csbosox. Pour is deep brown, with some ruby highlights and a surprisingly large tan head. Aroma of licorice, caramel candy sweetness (very big and raw), and roasted malt. Some wood notes in there as well. Taste is predominantly the sugary caramel, with the licorice, wood and roasted malt taking more of a back seat. The finish to this is syrupy molasses and reveals a bit of alcohol burn. After the initial shock to the system of the sweetness, this mellows nicely. Fairly chewy palate. Interesting, though unrefined. Thanks Chris!
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 reakt (946) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2008
Bottle from my local offie, way too cold so I let it sit a while before pouring. This is another one I’ve had and not rated, how annoying is that...Ok, the beer,,, Reddish brown with a beige in the middle but tan around the edge film. Alcohol is apparent with liquorice, roasted malt, caramel and coffee grounds folowing close behind, some dark fruit and chocolate notes also. Taste is similar, in the same order really. If it had more substance it might just come up trumps, but not quite. I didn’t know this was brewed by the same folks as Red Stripe, which was a personal fave inna di dancehall back in the day. I think I’d stick to this nowadays if given a choice, however both aren’t that great...
